'Macho Mocha', which I have grown, but otherwise very similar habit.

I'll save you a pup for you to try, and drop it off on a future but presently theoretical trip to Austin! Promise. :)Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00811255278369460625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8724026194455575530.post-24442581932184559052013-03-24T20:55:58.932-07:002013-03-24T20:55:58.932-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00811255278369460625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8724026194455575530.post-35377120745048164622013-03-24T10:06:36.469-07:002013-03-24T10:06:36.469-07:00It looks like the 'Macho Mocha' mangave, w...It looks like the 'Macho Mocha' mangave, which grows to the size you described and has purple spots and coloring, more so the more sun it gets. Has yours bloomed yet? It will survive, unlike most agaves, after blooming, but I found that mine got rather messy looking, with new crowns growing on each side of the plant. I ended up digging it up and planting a large pup where the mother plant had been, getting it back to the solitary look I enjoyed. Here's a post I wrote about it: http://www.penick.net/digging/?p=2259Pam/Digginghttp://www.penick.net/diggingnoreply@blogger.com
